Check the Netflix status
You have to make sure whether the issue is on the Netflix side or your side. You can check theNetflix status on its official website.
If Netflix is down, you have to wait for the Netflix team to fix the issue, there’s nothing you can do.
If Netflix is up and working normally, you need to check your side. The fixes below would help.
Try these fixes
You don’t have to try them all; just work your way down the list until you find the one that works for you.
For Windows Computers
For Smart TVs
For phones/tablets
If restarting your smartphone or tablet doesn’t help, try the below fixes.
- Force closing all apps and restart the Netflix app
- Update the Netflix app
- Reinstall the Netflix app
- Update the latestfirmware (Only for Android phones/tablets)
Fix 1: Disable/Uninstall antivirus software
Antivirus software aims to keep our computer safe, but sometimes the strict antivirus software could interfere with Netflix and cause Netflix not to work properly. Therefore, disabling or uninstalling the antivirus software and then restarting your computer can help you solve the error.
If this method resolves the problem, you can install another antivirus software to protect your computer. But if you are fond of the old one, contact the vendor of your antivirus software and ask them for advice.
IMPORTANT : Be extra careful in using the Internet after uninstalling/disabling your antivirus software.
Fix 2: Perform Windows updates
Sometimes, if your Windows System doesn’t update, then Netflix may have conflicts with the system. So, updating your Windows to the latest version can prevent some problems.
- Press the Windows logo key + I together.
- Click Update & security .
- Windows will check for updates. If it does not, select Check for updates .
4. After installation, restart your computer and try Netflix again.
Fix 3: Clear your browser cache
Clear browser cache is a common fix for many browser issues. If you’re using a browser to watch Netflix shows, try this method.
Here we take Google Chrome as an example:
Run Google Chrome.
Click the three dots button in the upper right corner of your browser.
Select History > History .
In the left pane, select Clear Browsing Data .
Select the Advanced tab.
In the Time Range drop-down, select All time .
Uncheck everything except Cached images and files .
Select Clear data .
Try Netflix again.
If none of the fixes work, you can contactNetflix customer service for help.
Sign out of Netflix
When your smart TV couldn’t play TV shows or movies, try to sign out of Netflix first.
- Open the Netflix home screen.
- Open the menu on the left and select Settings .
- Select Sign out .
- Select Yes to confirm.
- Once signed out, sign back in and try Netflix again.
If you could confirm that your device is experiencing a hardware issue, you can do a hard reset or contact your device manufacturer for help.
We hope you can solve the Netflix not working issue successfully. But if all else fails, don’t be frustrated, you still haveAmazon Prime Video ,Hulu ,HBO Go ,Disney + , etc.
